Hi,

I'm Mimi and in early 2000 I was looking for a career change.

I'd spent the last 6 years as an Administrative Analyst for the Division of the Arts the University of California, Santa Cruz. I loved the people there and the work I did was challenging and interesting but I couldn't seem to make enough money to get ahead in life. After 6 wonderful years, I knew that if I ever wanted to own my own home and stop worrying about money all the time, I needed to make a change.

My change in careers finally happened when I met my life partner. I moved to her town, Tel-Aviv, Israel. Suddenly I was not only struggling for a job but I was doing it in Hebrew. I looked for a variety of positions, all of which I was qualified and sometimes over-qualified to hold, The problem was that I had spent the last 6 years learning how to be a "Jill of all trades" and everywhere I interviewed, the Human Resources Departments gave me the same feedback, they wanted a focused, experienced expert.

I began looking at the ads for Technical Writing positions. I'd written several "How To" documents and manuals while working at the University, but I'd never held a writing position in the High Tech industry. Suddenly my phone was ringing off the hook. The company I chose to work for is a wonderful work environment and I am extremely happy with my job and grateful to them. I really found my niche and I hope you do too.

Now it is my turn to give something back because, I love being a Technical Writer. I've always wanted to give something back to the Internet community and I believe that the World's pool of Technical Writers can always use fresh new minds.

We have a lot to learn from you so welcome!

Thanks for stopping in, I hope that something on my site helps you in some small way.

Mimi
